Salehe Bembury offers his distinctive take on this all-time classic with a concept that leans into the trail running influences of the original 574. The Salehe Bembury 574 YURT, named for felt or skin covered portable round tents, reimagines ‘the most New Balance shoe ever’ as an adventurous outdoors focused design. Functionality-minded alterations – an extended TPU rollbar, medial toe protection, perforated neoprene tongue borrow from the 755 and Test Run 3.0, while an exaggerated outsole, 990v3 inspired toebox, and open mesh construction put Salehe’s distinctive aesthetic stamp on the proceedings. The design is rounded out with a first of its kind addition: a molded plastic, high-pitched safety whistle at the heel, for a literal application of versatile function.
