A TOTAL ’90S THROWBACK
WITH BUZZED-ABOUT CURVES
Originally released in 1996, the 850 was considered a radical departure from previous New Balance designs. Intended as a performance running stability shoe, the style offered a modernized upper design and replaced the traditional N logo sidewall branding with a contemporary “flying” NB stitched at the heel. The change opened design options for color blocking and material execution with the multilayered upper, representing the 90s aesthetic.
